Miserable Britain

Miserable Britain. Not a headline I like to read.

Britain. Britain. Britain. Those are the opening words from the comedy Little Britain.

Looking at press headlines, the word misery is often used to describe the feeling of people in Britain.

I have been born, raised and educated in Britain. Yes Britain. England mainly with a lot of Wales and a little of Scotland and Northern Ireland.

After reading a blog post by Marc Winn about the happiest country in world, i decided to do some  research myself and found this article in the Telegraph, showing the top 10 countries in the world for 2014, were: 1. Switzerland, 2. Iceland, 3. Denmark, 4. Norway , 5. Canada , 6. Finland , 7. Netherlands , 8. Sweden , 9. New Zealand, 10. Australia.

Britain was in 21st place.

Why is Britain regarded so miserable compared to other countries?

The statistic that fascinates me the most is the fact that ALL the Scandinavian countries are in the top 10.

Clearly they are doing something right and we can learn from their cultures and attitudes to life?

Having visited 4 of those countries listed in top 10, i feel the need to visit more and learn more.
