For those of you who follow me on Twitter, will know that i do enjoy my walking.
I first caught the walking bug whilst on the Machu Picchu trail walk in Peru. Amazing!
I then continued my walking joy in Guernsey and also took part in the famous ITEX walk around the whole of Guernsey in one day. 40 miles.
Apparently, walking helps with creativity and many more other positive aspects too.
May was national walking month, but who needs a national anything to actually get off our arses and do that thing they are trying to promote?
One of the side benefits of walking is that we complete a certain number of steps each day. It is suggested that we do a minimum 10,000 steps a day.
That equates to about 5 miles a day. This includes walking to and from the car and walking around the office or workplace and to and from the kitchen if you work from home.
I invested in a Fitbit about 3 years ago and since then i have walked the distance of the Great Wall of China, which is 5,500 miles. So a tad over the 500 miles from the proclaimers song.
As well as being motivated to stay fit, the Fitbit enables me to keep track of my daily target of over 12,000 steps a day.
My curent Fitbit is the Charge HR. Tremendous piece of technology and so simple to set-up and use.
I love it!
Hope you love my video below taken from part of my ITEX Walk i completed in 2013.
